The Powercor Business of the Year will be selected from the category winners.

1 to 15 Employees/FTE*

Open to all businesses that provide a service to consumers and/or industry with one to fifteen full time or equivalent employees.  Answer questions 1 to 5.

16 or more Employees FTE*

Open to all businesses that provide a service to consumers and/or industry with 16 or more full time or equivalent employees. Answer questions 1 to 5

Open to all businesses that produce materials for consumers, industrial use or export market, or are undertaking or building infrastructure or economic development within the Geelong region. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Open to all retail businesses that sell commodities directly to consumers. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Open to all organisations and/or departments and/or educational institutions that receive full or part government funding. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Second Generation or more

Open to all businesses that have at least second generation members of the family working in the business. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Open to all businesses operating within the health sector including pharmacies, medical clinics, allied health, health centres, medical specialists, dentists, holistic healing, psychologists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, naturopaths, fi tness centres, weight loss assistance etc. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Open to all businesses that operate in the hospitality industry – hotels, restaurants, cafes, clubs and bars. Tourism accommodation, events and services- B&B’s, Caravan and Holiday Parks, all services that attract visitors to the Geelong region. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Open to all Geelong based businesses that operate outside 10 kilometres from Geelong CBD. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Open to all businesses operating in the trade and services industry –Builders, Plumbers, Electricians, Painters, Panel Beaters, Mechanics, Landscape Gardeners, Cleaning Services, Home/Commercial Maintenance etc. Answer questions 1 to 5.

Under 3 years

Open to all businesses that have been operating for three years or less.

1 to 3 Employees/FTE*

Open to all businesses that are operating with one to three full time or equivalent employees. Automatic entry by number of employees.

4 to 15 Employees/FTE*

Open to all businesses that are operating with four to fi fteen full time or equivalent employees. Automatic entry by number of employees.

16 to 35 Employees/FTE*

Open to all businesses that are operating with sixteen to thirty-five full time or equivalent employees. Automatic entry by number of employees.

36 or more Employees/FTE*

Open to all businesses or departments that are operating with thirty-six or more FTE employees and Franchises.

Open to all businesses that have not previously entered the Awards.

Open to all entrants – one award to be made to an organisation operating North of the Barwon river and one award to an organisation operating on the Bellarine Peninsula or South of the Barwon river.

Open to all businesses that can demonstrate successful implementation of a people strategy that directly contributes to the achievement of organisational objectives. Answer questions 1 to 5 and question 6A.

Open to all businesses that can demonstrate a high standard of customer service using resources to the maximum effi ciency while constantly looking to improve. Answer questions 1 to 5 and question 6B.

Open to all businesses that can demonstrate eco-effi cient initiatives that encompass one or more of the five main elements of waste, water, energy, carbon and bio-diversity that are good for business and the environment. Answer questions 1 to 5 and 6C.

Open to all businesses that can demonstrate a recognition of, and commitment to supporting a health promoting workplace. Answer questions 1 to 5 and question 6D.
